COVID-19 March 2020 shut down and quarantine

Description

On March 22nd, 2020 as the pandemic was beginning to spread throughout the world, it finally reached the sunny
shores of Florida. We had taken the Cross Bay ferry from downtown Tampa to downtown St. Petersburg on that Sunday afternoon , enjoying the
beautiful spring weather and attractions at Vinoy park. The echoes of Covid rumbled in the distance, but had not yet interrupted our Florida paradise.
However, as the day progressed more and more restaurants, bars and establishments began to close, with local health officials ordering patrons to
leave, locking doors and disrupting our revelry. As the sun set in St. Petersburg and darkness descended, mounted police stationed themselves on the
steps of the shuttered doors of the Museum of Fine Arts and we life as we knew it would never be the same again. Edward Chittenden captured this
photo on that fateful night, The Day the World Shut Down.
