COVID-19 Signage in the Macdonald-Kelce Library
Description
I've always loved browsing through library shelves, books, and materials. It has always been very calming and peaceful to me. The day I took these pictures I had arrived early to meet a class in one of the rooms in the library. I was going to be sharing information on how to register for classes in Workday. It was one of the first times that I would be in front of a group of individuals 'face to face' in a very, very long time so I was little nervous. I was prepared, and of course did have and wear my mask. I arrived early, set up, then spent a few minutes walking through the library bookshelves and spotted these signs. While I completely understood why (e.g., safety first) I found it very melancholy. Something so simple that I've always enjoyed browsing, touching, and looking at materials in a library became suddenly nostalgic, something I realized at that moment that I was longing for and missing.
